The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has increased the sponsorship rates for the Indian cricket team’s jersey. From now on, the sponsor will pay ₹3.5 crore per match for bilateral series games. Earlier, the rate was ₹3.17 crore per match.
This hike shows the rising value of Indian cricket and its global popularity. India’s matches attract massive television and digital viewership, making the team’s jersey one of the most valuable sports sponsorships in the world.
BCCI officials confirmed that the new rates will apply from the upcoming home and away bilateral series. The board believes that the Indian team’s strong fan base and consistent performances are the main reasons behind this price increase.
Apart from bilateral matches, sponsorship values for ICC tournaments and multi-nation events are usually negotiated separately and are even higher due to international reach.
With this decision, BCCI once again proved why Indian cricket is considered the richest and most influential in the sport. The increased sponsorship revenue will also help in developing cricket infrastructure, supporting domestic tournaments, and nurturing young talent across the country.
