Bengaluru Thrash Punjab By 8 Wickets; Reach Final After 9 Years

PBKS vs RCB, IPL 2025 Qualifier 1 Highlights: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will play the Indian Premier League (IPL) final after nine years and the fourth time in history. Searching for a first-ever title, the Rajat Patidar-led side thrashed Punjab Kings by eight wickets with 60 balls to spare.

Earlier, PBKS registered the lowest total in a playoff match in IPL history in the first innings as they were bowled out for 101. Marcus Stoinis (26), Azmatullah Omarzai (18), and Prabhsimran Singh (18) were the only Punjab batters to reach double digits. Josh Hazlewood (3-21), and Suyash Sharma (3-18) were the stars of the show. Yash Dayal took two wickets. RCB reached the target with 10 overs to spare as Phil Salt made an unbeaten 27-ball 56.

RCB won the toss and chose to bowl first as Rajat Patidar took charge of the team once again after Jitesh Sharma led the team in the last two matches. Josh Hazlewood returned to the playing XI for the first time since 27th April.Although, Tim David was not fit to play the match.

As far as Punjab Kings (PBKS) are concerned, they were without Marco Jansen, who has left for international duty. Azamatullah Omarzai returned to the line-up while Kyle Jamieson kept his place. Yuzvendra Chahal missed out for the third game due to a row due to a reported injury.
