The hero with the ball was Kuldeep Yadav, who took 4 wickets for 30 runs. With this performance, he became the highest wicket-taker in Asia Cup history (36 wickets across formats) and also the top wicket-taker in a single T20 Asia Cup edition with 17 wickets. He broke the record of Sri Lanka’s Lasith Malinga.
Earlier in the tournament, Abhishek Sharma played a stormy knock against Pakistan, hitting 74 runs from 39 balls with multiple sixes. He became one of the fastest Indian batsmen to reach 50 sixes in T20Is. His attacking style gave India a strong edge in the group and Super 4 stages.
