Perry bags four to bowl NSW out for 203

Mitchell Perry’s 4-fer bundled out New South Wales for 203 before the visitors ended Day 1 on 15 for 1.

Put in to bat, the hosts lost two wickets early before they steadied their innings. However, another stutter through the middle session reduced them to 136 for 7, before Chris Green bailed them out with a fighting half-century. He added 57 runs for the eighth wicket with Trent Copeland. Perry returned for another spell and bagged the last two wickets to end NSW’s innings

Brief Scores: New South Wales 203 (Chris Green 52; Mitchell Perry 4-24, Fergus O’Neill 2-50) lead Victoria 15/1 by 188 runs.

Queensland vs South Australia

Michael Neser and Xavier Bartlett snared three wickets apiece as South Australia were bundled out for 272 on the opening day at the Gabba, against Queensland.

Electing to field, Bartlett and Neser ripped through South Australia’s top order, striking thrice in the first hour of play to leave the visitors reeling at 33 for 3. Jake Lehmann’s counter-attacking 58-ball 65 helped South Australia turn the tide, but another phase of three quick wickets by the duo reduced them from 107 for 3 to 111 for 6.

Harry Nielson and Ben Manenti revived the innings with a 116-run stand, but a flurry of wickets towards the end of the end shifted the momentum of the contest yet again.
