Neeraj Chopra Misses Diamond League Title, Finishes Second in Zurich

Neeraj Chopra Finishes Second in Diamond League Final

India’s star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra could not repeat his 2022 magic in the Diamond League Final 2025 held in Zurich. The Olympic champion gave his best effort but had to settle for the second position, finishing around 7 meters behind the winner.

The top spot went to Julian Weber of Germany, who produced a massive throw of over 91 meters. Neeraj’s best attempt was 85.01 meters, which was enough for the silver medal but not close enough to challenge Weber’s dominant performance.

The competition started tough for Neeraj as his first two throws were not very strong. However, he made a comeback with a solid third throw, which secured him the runner-up spot. The defending champion fought hard till the last attempt but could not cross the 90-meter mark that fans were expecting.

Even though he missed the title, Neeraj’s performance showed his consistency at the top level of world athletics. He remains one of the strongest competitors in men’s javelin throw and continues to make India proud.

Fans are now looking forward to his preparation for the upcoming World Championships and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
