The second T20 match between India and Australia ended with Australia winning by 4 wickets, chasing a small target of 126 runs in just 13.2 overs. Despite a good effort from Abhishek Sharma, India couldn’t defend their total, allowing Australia to level the series.
India’s batting started well but soon collapsed after losing quick wickets. Opener Abhishek Sharma looked confident and scored 42 runs off 32 balls, hitting some stylish shots through the off side. However, other Indian batters failed to support him. Tilak Varma (18) and Sanju Samson (20) got starts but couldn’t convert them into big scores. Australia’s bowlers, especially Josh Hazlewood and Adam Zampa, kept tight control during the middle overs, restricting India to just 125 runs in 18.4 overs.
When Australia came to chase, they started aggressively. Opener Travis Head smashed Indian pacers to all corners, scoring 41 runs from 22 balls. Captain Mitchell Marsh also contributed with 38 runs, playing some powerful strokes over mid-wicket. Although India took a few wickets in the middle overs — thanks to Arshdeep Singh and Ravi Bishnoi — the target was too small to defend.
Australia reached 126/6 in 13.2 overs, sealing an easy win and making the series exciting again.
For India, the bowling lacked consistency. Avesh Khan went for runs early, while Mukesh Kumar and Bishnoi tried to bring India back into the game but couldn’t stop Australia’s chase.
After the match, captain Suryakumar Yadav said the team needs to improve in both batting and bowling, especially in the powerplay overs. He praised Abhishek Sharma’s innings but admitted that the total was below-par for this pitch.
With the series now level at 1-1, both teams will prepare for the third T20, which is expected to be a high-pressure clash.
