The 3 ODI series between India and Australia starts tomorrow (17th). The first ODI of this series will be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. And now it has been reported that star player Shreyas Iyer will not feature in this series. India won the Test series by two to one.
In this situation, winning the ODI series starting tomorrow is not an easy task. The reason is that there are more active players in the Australian team.
It is said that the Australian openers will give Rohit Sharma a tough challenge in this series.
And on the 4th day of the last Test against Australia in Ahmedabad, Shreyas Iyer was ruled out of the match due to injury without batting. He is currently undergoing various exercises at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru to recover from the injury as advised by the Indian Cricket Board medical team. Shreyas Iyer is said to take a few weeks to fully recover from his injury. As a result, Shreyas Iyer has been ruled out of the ODI series against Australia.
Looking at the playing eleven of the Indian team, Rohit Sharma and Subman Gill will play as openers. As KL Rahul currently works as a wicket keeper in ODI cricket, the pair will play in the World Cup series.
Virat Kohli will play at No. 3 in the middle row. With Shreyas Iyer out due to injury, the spot will go to
Suriya Kumar Yadav at number 4. Similarly, KL Rahul will be placed at the 5th position as a wicket keeper batsman. All-rounder Hardik Pandya is expected to play at number six. Ravindra Jadeja, who has returned to the Indian team after several months, will feature in the ODI team at number 7.
Bowlers Mohammad Shami at number eight, Mohammad Siraj at number nine and Umran Malik or Shardul Thakur at number ten are likely to play. Similarly, Chagal or Kuldeep Yadav are more likely to play as the second spinner as the eleventh man. As the ground is favorable for run-up, we can expect the Indian team to win the toss and bowl first.
Playing XI:
Rohit Sharma, Subman Gill, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Umaran Malik/ Shardul Thakur, Chahal/ Kuldeep Yadav.
