Rain played spoilsport in the fifth and final T20I between West Indies and England as only five overs of play was possible at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in St. Lucia before the heavens opened up. In those five overs, Shai Hope and Evin Lewis continued from where they had left in the fourth T20I after their 136 run-opening stand. The hosts had raced to 44 for 0 before unrelenting rain commenced, and eventually play was called off a few hours later with no further action possible.
England had taken an unassailable lead of 3-0 in the T20I series but the hosts bagged a consolation win in the fourth game. West Indies did, however, win won the preceding ODI series 2-1.
England will next play three Tests in New Zealand from November 29 while West Indies shall continue their home season with two Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is against Bangladesh commencing from November 22.
