The IPL 2023 Qualifier 1 clash between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is set to unfold at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Tuesday (May 23). GT finished in first place in the points table after winning 10 out of 14 games. CSK won eight out of 14 games and finished the league stage in second position.
GT defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore in their previous game by six wickets after chasing down the target of 198 runs in 19.1 overs. RCB posted a total of 197 runs for the loss of five wickets on the back of a century from Virat Kohli. Shubman Gill also scored a century and helped his team cross the line.
CSK faced Delhi Capitals in their previous encounter. They posted a huge total of 223 runs for the loss of three wickets. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway performed really well and provided a solid start to the team. The duo added 141 runs for the first wicket. In reply, DC could make only 146 runs for the loss of nine wickets. David Warner played the role of a lone warrior as he made 86 runs off 58 deliveries.
GT and CSK faced each other in the season opener game this year. GT chased down a target of 179 runs in 19.2 overs with five wickets in hand. GT have won three games so far against CSK.
